Engineering MCP Server

Deterministic, standards-compliant engineering calculations exposed as Model Context Protocol tools. Free public access — rate-limited. Read the guide.

Endpoint

http://fast.engineer/mcp  ·  Streamable HTTP, stateless — MCP 2026-07-28 and 2025-11-25 clients

Quick start

Tools

Every engineering result carries its governing constraint, the checks behind it, the clause/table references it relied on, its assumptions and SHA-256 hashes, so it can be reproduced.

Unit conversion fe_util_convert
Per-unit and impedance base conversions fe_util_per_unit

Client config snippets

Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http fast-engineer http://fast.engineer/mcp

Claude, ChatGPT and other connector UIs: add a custom connector with the URL http://fast.engineer/mcp.

Cursor / VS Code / Cline (mcp.json):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "fast-engineer": {
      "url": "http://fast.engineer/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_KEY_HERE" }
    }
  }
}

Anonymous tier? Omit the headers block.

Claude Desktop and other clients that only launch local servers: install the Python package, store your key once, and point the client at the command.

python -m pip install fast-engineer-mcp
fast-engineer-mcp login # paste the emailed key; stored for your user only
fast-engineer-mcp check # lists the tools you can call
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "fast-engineer": { "command": "fast-engineer-mcp" }
  }
}

The package forwards every call here; nothing is calculated locally. Source and issues: github.com/fast-engineer/fast-engineer-mcp.

Signed-in workspace

http://fast.engineer/mcp/workspace  ·  OAuth sign-in with your fast.engineer account; your client opens the sign-in page the first time it connects, and you choose which team workspace it may use.

Adds to the free tools:

claude mcp add --transport http fast-engineer-workspace http://fast.engineer/mcp/workspace

Connector UIs: add a custom connector with the workspace URL; no key is needed. Revoke a client any time from Connected apps.
